Wisconsin Humanities Council

I've had success with adult programming when I have booked performers through the Wisconsin Humanities Council. The WHC is no longer in the booking business but they do give contact information as well as the scope of programs available through their listing of speakers on their web site. I have an upcoming afternoon program on November 7th for 65 folks. Helen Bannan will be performing "Jessie Jack Hooper: The Power of Organized Womanhood". It's worth taking the time to look at the WHC's web site.

  1. Muskego joins Alli in singing the praises of the Wisconsin Humanities Council programs. We featured the "A More Perfect Union" series during the 2008 election year. The scholars available for this multiple part program are tremendous and our events drew a high of about 16 attendees at the start to a low of about 5 when we had to discontinue the program. Oh, but what an incredible time we had while it lasted! The recommended books, the terrific scholars/discussion leaders, and the wonderful readers who attended were all a dream come true. The feedback received from those who attended underscored the appreciation of this kind of enriching, thought provoking and exciting programing that was so wonderfully apparent in their passionate exchange of ideas.

As Alli says, the WHC has much to offer and working with them will be a great experience for you and your patrons.
